Photochromatic Lenses for V-Force Goggles Are Here!

27 04 2007

While I own several sets of goggle systems, the ones I wear the most are V-Force. They have some real comfy foam and the field of view and lack of distortion is amazing. The 10 second lens change ability is helpful not just for cleaning but for switching between clear and smoke lenses. I’m one of those people that hates glaring sun in my eyes, but I want clear vision when conditions are dim. If the weather throughout a day of paintball goes sunny to overcast to back again I’m running back and forth switching lenses.

V-Force has released the Photochromatic Lens to fit their popular Profiler, Shield and Morph goggles. At $32.95… less than the cost of buying a clear and smoke lens… these lenses will automatically darken or lighten to existing light conditions during play. Playing indoors? The lenses lighten up to clear. Playing outdoors? They darken to varying degrees of light, so if the sunshine comes out from the clouds or you head into the shady trees you always have the right amount of tint for optimal vision and comfort.

Available in Blue, Brown or Grey tints and highly recommended!

New 2007 Spyders !

26 04 2007

New in the warehouse this week are the 2007 Spyder Sonix and Victor. They feature the new ergonomic gripframe and sleek body design in dust finish. The smoother cuts of the body and finish make for quicker clean up between games. Both models use a top-cocking delrin bolt system with a captured pullpin, meaning the pin stays in the bolt so it doesn’t get lost! Very nice additions to already proven markers.

Shipping next week to us will be the new VS1 in Matte Blue and Matte Olive. These feature the breakbeam eye system of the VS2 and VS3 but with the standard valve system so it will function on CO2 or compressed air (the VS2 and 3 require a compressed air system). These will be priced at a very competitive $159.95 will definitely be one of the hot sellers this summer!

Goodbye Revolution, Hello Force!

25 04 2007

Viewloader has just announced it is discontinuing the venerable 12vt Revolution, the classic electric loader. While still a great loader, it was starting to show its age in today’s world of faster and faster rates of fire. However, Viewloader have a new contender stepping into the ring.

The Revolution Force and Eye-Force, priced $29.99-74.99, will be the new generation of Viewloader feeding markers in the entry to midlevel range. The new shell shape will be much easier to wipe clean between games and moves the paintballs down to a carousel much like their high end Vlocity loaders. The Force is a continous feed (turn it on and it stays running) with a flexible paddle pushing paint down the feedneck. The Eye-Force utilizes a breakbeam eye system to engage the motor and features a three bladed spring loaded catchcup (again, similar to the high end Vlocity). This pushes the paintballs forward to the breech and keeps them under tension for fast smooth operation.

The Force and Eye-Force will be shipping soon, and deserves a good look from budget-minded players who need a lot of speed for not a lot of money.

The Scenario King

20 04 2007

Ask any player what’s a good “woodsball” or “scenario” marker and the first word out of their mouth will probably be Tippmann. The company is going on 21 years in operation, one of the oldest in the industry, and they’ve developed a reliable and durable product backed up by excellent customer service. The 98 Custom and A5 were milsim when milsim wasn’t cool but with the rise in popularity of scenario/ big games they now dominate that market. This year they showed they mean business when they teamed up with the Special Ops to release the X7.

The X7 replaces the A5 as the flagship model for the company and looks like a Navy SEAL designed it. The first big change is the material of the body… out with aluminum and in with magnesium alloy for a 20% savings in weight. Plenty of 7/8″ rails for mounting accessories and a mock magazine well with a plastic magazine that cleverly opens up for small parts storage. The Cyclone Feed System is vented for faster cycling and the X7 hopper (which fits other Cyclones as well) sits lower and to the right for sight clearance.

The Standard and Response Trigger models are currently available. I’m told the Egrip model won’t be ready until late July or August.

The X7 Accessories simply bolt into place and there are numerous stocks, foregrips, mock magazines, barrel shrouds and sightrails coming in to completely trick the marker out. Its almost like a big milsim LEGO set! A lot of the accessories sold out fast so check in often for availability.
