Tapco Collapsible Stock for the Tippmann X7
21 09 2007Tapco, a company from Kennesaw Georgia, has been a supplier of tactical parts and accessories for police and military for years. The last couple of years they have ventured into the paintball marketplace with solid dependable shoulder stocks for the Tippmann 98 Custom and A5. We stock models such as the Solid Stock for A5, Side Folding for Model 98, and the ever popular M4-style Collapsible in black, olive or ACU Digitial for A5 and black or olive for the Model 98/ Custom Pro. All of these stocks are completely made in the USA.
New to the Tapco lineup is the X7 Collapsible Stock. The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was the aluminum tabs where the pins would normally go. This is the area where the stock endures the most stress and where 90% of problems with a stock occur. Rather than rely on plastic, they mated aluminum to the frame for strength. This means that instead of using the pull pins, the stock is secured to the body via two supplied nuts and bolts (black to match the body, naturally!).
While some of you may not like the idea of losing the quick strip ability, I personally think it is the best change that could have been done! After working in a paintball pro shop for years I saw dozens of cheap stocks snapped off at the tabs.. even tabs snapped during installation. Really, how often do you actually field strip in the middle of a game? An extra minute or two with an allen wrench is a lot cheaper than replacing a broken stock.
Oh, and speaking of cheaper… the Tapco X7 Collapsible is only $39.99! That is a lot cheaper other X7 stocks, leaving you with some extra scratch for more goodies.
Another product from Tapco is the Ergonomic Deluxe Foregrip that fits on just about any tactical rail. Available in olive or black, this is the same grip used by military and police all over the world. Its super tough, installs and adjusts without tools and clamps tight with no wobble. Its big and burly with a nice grippy texture… I personally can’t stand those slim foregrips you see all the time. Two cool features it has are the side plates that can be removed to form a channel to tuck your laser and flashlight pressure switches out of the way and an internal storage compartment for battery, o-ring etc storage or to hide those secret documents in a scenario game.
Go to our website and type “Tapco” in the Search bar… if your into milsim, scenario or woodsball, they definitely have the goods for you!
