Tapco Collapsible Stock for the Tippmann X7

21 09 2007

Tapco, a company from Kennesaw Georgia, has been a supplier of tactical parts and accessories for police and military for years. The last couple of years they have ventured into the paintball marketplace with solid dependable shoulder stocks for the Tippmann 98 Custom and A5. We stock models such as the Solid Stock for A5, Side Folding for Model 98, and the ever popular M4-style Collapsible in black, olive or ACU Digitial for A5 and black or olive for the Model 98/ Custom Pro. All of these stocks are completely made in the USA.

New to the Tapco lineup is the X7 Collapsible Stock. The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was the aluminum tabs where the pins would normally go. This is the area where the stock endures the most stress and where 90% of problems with a stock occur. Rather than rely on plastic, they mated aluminum to the frame for strength. This means that instead of using the pull pins, the stock is secured to the body via two supplied nuts and bolts (black to match the body, naturally!).

While some of you may not like the idea of losing the quick strip ability, I personally think it is the best change that could have been done! After working in a paintball pro shop for years I saw dozens of cheap stocks snapped off at the tabs.. even tabs snapped during installation. Really, how often do you actually field strip in the middle of a game? An extra minute or two with an allen wrench is a lot cheaper than replacing a broken stock.

Oh, and speaking of cheaper… the Tapco X7 Collapsible is only $39.99! That is a lot cheaper other X7 stocks, leaving you with some extra scratch for more goodies.

Another product from Tapco is the Ergonomic Deluxe Foregrip that fits on just about any tactical rail. Available in olive or black, this is the same grip used by military and police all over the world. Its super tough, installs and adjusts without tools and clamps tight with no wobble. Its big and burly with a nice grippy texture… I personally can’t stand those slim foregrips you see all the time. Two cool features it has are the side plates that can be removed to form a channel to tuck your laser and flashlight pressure switches out of the way and an internal storage compartment for battery, o-ring etc storage or to hide those secret documents in a scenario game.

LAPCO Barrels and Accessories

5 09 2007

LAPCO is one of the oldest companies in paintball, dating back to the late 80’s. Always innovating, they’ve created many of the things that we take for granted today such as the bottomline. From barrels to drop forwards to whole markers… the famous Grey Ghost and Grey Spirit pumps… they are famous for amazing quality and finish. While not as well known as some of the other companies they have many products that a lot of players should take notice.

First off is their barrels. We just brought in the Bigshot line in 8″, 12″ and 14″.

These are .689 bored barrels with unbelievable quality inside and out. Honestly, I think they take the most time and effort in the finished look. The milling is crisp and clean with no blemishes in the deep satin or polished anodizing. They are available in a variety of lengths in most popular barrel threads. Two big things to note for all you Kingman MR series and Tippmann X7 shooters out there. Not only does the milling compliment the look of these markers, the Spyder Bigshots will fit through the shrouds of the MR2/ MR3s and the A5 thread barrels fit through the shrouds for the X7. In fact, I think the 8″ Bigshot is the best looking barrel I’ve seen on an X7 for the full CQB look.

They make a sweet Mock Suppressor that simulates the the look and feel of a real “can” used by military and law enforcement. No, it does not actually silence or suppress the sound signature… that would be illegal. However, a simulated one is perfectly legal and recommended! The kit comes with sleeves to fit most barrels. Of course, the fit LAPCOs the best…

For the popular Tiberius pistol line, they make an amazing Tiberius Bigshot Barrel with Mock Suppressor. I wish my desk had a better camera so you could see the detail and awesome finish LAPCO puts on this combo. The connection between the can and the muzzle is threaded with an o-ring for a solid fit and the plentiful porting means this actually does help quiet the sound of firing a bit.

The ever popular LAPCO Barrel Adapters are now in stock! Its frustrating to upgrade to a better paintball marker and have to buy a new barrel because the threading is different, or your buddy has a great barrel they don’t need anymore but it doesn’t fit yours. The LAPCO Barrel Adapter screws into your marker’s breech and is threaded at the other end to accept a new barrel thread. We’ve got adapters to fit:

A5 or Spyder barrels to Tippmann 98

98 Custom, Spyder or Impulse (Ion) barrels to Tippmann A5

Autococker or Spyder barrels to Impulse (Ion)

We’ve got more LAPCO items in stock with even more on the way. Periodically check in at our homepage and type ‘LAPCO’ in the search field. LAPCO may cost a bit more but the quality and performance is worth it!
